Welcome to ISMA-2016

The benefits from development and exploitation of advanced materials particularly smart materials have increasingly been felt in recent years. The inherent intelligence, self sensing and memory effects etc induce capability of these materials to change their physical and chemical properties like shape, viscosity and elastic moduli in response to external stimuli like pressure, temperature and electric field etc. With the ability to respond autonomously to changes in their environment, the smart materials offer a simplified approach to control various materials and system characteristics and hence find numerous applications in all spheres of human activities ranging from hydrospace to aerospace. In view of importance and their wide ranging potential applications, the conference aims to provide a global cross disciplinary forum to deliberate and discuss the present and future issues in major sectors such as material processing, characterization, modeling, simulation, properties, performances and device fabrication by experts/eminent researchers/research scholars from across the country and abroad.

Scope of the Conference

The objective of this conference is to bring together experts from academic institutions, industries and research organization from across the globe to share their knowledge, expertise and experience in the emerging trends related to Smart materials processing and characterization and indulge in the analysis of functionally graded materials/tailor made materials to meet the ever increasing demands of industry and modern society at large. The conference is structured as follows: plenary lectures followed by parallel sessions. The plenary talks will be delivered by eminent scientist/researchers of international repute. Each parallel session will start with invited talks on a specific topic followed by contributed papers. The papers shall be invited from prospective authors from academic institutions, industries and R & D organizations.
